Puppy Used to Train Fighting Dogs Goes Missing

1-year-old pit bull Misty used to be used as bait to train fighting dogs in New York City. She went missing in Riverdale Friday night. A $2,000 reward is being offered to whomever finds her.

A 1-year-old pit bull who was used as bait to train fighting dogs went missing from her owner this weekend.

Misty was dumped on a street corner in Brooklyn with severe injuries earlier this year. She nearly died, but was taken in by Second Chance Rescue NYC, a privately owned New York City-based animal rescue group.

A $2,000 reward is being offered for whomever finds her.

A Facebook page dedicated to her has more than 12,000 "likes." 

Misty lives in Riverdale with a foster owner.  She was last seen at East Wilson and Highland Avenue near Route 23 in Riverdale.

Misty has white front paws and a white chest. She has scars on her neck and head. She is not wearing a collar but does have a microchip implanted in her.
