Missing Wayne Man Sparks Police Search

Joseph Albano was last seen driving a Hyundai Sonata on June 3.

Local and state police are looking for a missing Wayne man.

Joseph Albano, 51, was last seen on June 3 at his Wayne residence, the New Jersey State Police posted its Facebook page Tuesday afternoon.

“There’s nothing suspicious. We found no suicide note. No foul play is suspected,” said Wayne Detective Capt. James Clarke.

Albano, a laywer with Fusco & Macaluso sent a text message to his boss stating he could not return to work and that he was seeking professoinal help, NorthJersey.com reported.

Albano was representing the estate of Tommaso Poplizio, a Newark police officer who was killed in March 2007 during a vehicle chase with police, the New Jersey Law Journal reported. Poplizio's SUV collided with a city police cruiser that was stolen, the publication reported.

Albano's firm argued in a suit filed against the maker of the glass partition in the cruiser that it contributed to the prisoner escaping, the law journal reported. According to the law journal, Albano was assigned the case in May 2011 and often butted heads with the defense.

Albano was last seen driving a 2013 blue four-door Hyundai Sonata.

Albano is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds, the post states. He has a scar on his left ankle. He wears a yellow gold wedding band and a Wayne Hills High School class ring.
