Parents Can Pay for Their Child's Lunches Online

District creates new payment option, food service website.

The days of a child worrying if another student will take his or her lunch money appear to have ended.

Parents can now pay for their child’s school lunches online through the district's new food services webpage. The site contains a price list for food sold in all elementary, middle, and high schools for the 2012-2013 school year.

A new computerized system has also been installed in all school cafeterias.

The system allows parents to view their child’s meal activity for the entire school year and automatically notifies them when their account balance is low.

A copy of the price lists for all schools, and information about the kindergarten milk program have been attached to this article.

You have been able to add to your child's lunch account for a few years now through Sodexo. This new system charges you only (hic) a $2.50 convenience fee compared to Sodexo's $5 (I think it was). Why are we being charged any fee to add money to our child's account? Send a check to school with your child for the cafeteria and save the convenience fee!

I have wondered this for years. By paying online it is saving Sodexo time and money. It is clearly a convenience for them, yet we are the ones paying a fee! It is just as easy to send a check in with my children and it teaches them responsibility. I will keep doing that until they get rid of this ridiculous charge.
