No One Hurt in 'Accidental' House Fire, Authorities Say

Blaze started on the exterior of the house and moved to the attic.

No one was hurt in what authorities are calling an accidental fire on Indian Road Friday morning.

Pat Lowe, the homeowner, said her daughter and her boyfriend were home when the fire started. They and a few pets got out of the house with no injuries.

Lowe said a man saw the fire, knocked on the door, and yelled for the occupants to get out of the house.

Fire Commissioner Steve Toth said the fire appeared to have started on the exterior of the house and migrated into the attic.

“Everything right now points to this being an accidental fire,” Toth said. “There’s nothing suspicious at this point.”

Toth said authorities were still investigating the cause of the blaze Friday afternoon.

All five fire companies and the Wayne Fire Aid Squad responded to the fire.

Indian Road. Exact addresses regarding fire and crimes are generally not released.

My daughter is alive and well and absolutely in no trouble at all. I am truly blessed that a passerby banged on the door to tell her the house was on fire. Not only did he save their lives he gave her boyfriend a pair of shoes because they ran out so quickly. I understand it was harry from the Oakland diner ( a complete stranger ) please solicit the Oakland diner. He saved my daughters life yesterday.
