" Natural choice to fill
board vacancy
It's time to put school children ahead of politics in Wayne.
The Wayne Board of Education is considering filling a seat vacated by the resignation of trustee Robyn Kingston. The board is considering five candidates. One of them is Cathy Kazan.
In the most recent school board election, Kazan received close to 7,000 votes, finishing fourth in the race for three seats. As the next-highest vote getter, Kazan should be strongly considered to fill the vacancy. This position is too important to our schoolchildren to allow local politics to decide a replacement board member. The board's remaining eight trustees should heed the voices of 7,000 voters. Kazan should be appointed to the vacated seat.
