PAL Receives $50K for Field Improvements
Funds allocated from the Passaic County Open Space Trust Fund.
The Wayne Police Athletic League received $50,000 from the Passaic County Open Space Trust Fund to improve its little league baseball field and repair the drainage system.
Members of the Passaic County Open Space Committee and local and county officials presented the PAL with a symbolic check earlier this month.
This is the second time this year the officials have allocated money from the trust fund improve baseball fields in town.
The league’s Challenger division received more than $92,000 earlier this year to improve its baseball field.

Just for the record this article is inaccurate. The Wayne PAL received a grant for $50,000 not the Wayne Little League. The two organizations are not related and its the first time the Wayne PAL has received any county funds

Why is a private organization receiving "County Funds" are these public funds or are they something else?
