Nearly 1,500 Wayne JCP&L Customers Still Powerless

Utility company had hoped to restore power to 450 homes on Thursday.

Jersey Central Power & Light will send 12 work crews into Wayne on Thursday, officials said.

Mayor Chris Vergano said he spoke to personnel at the utility company at 7:15 a.m. Thursday. He said the company's goal is to restore power to 450 homes.

Residents have been highly critical of the utility company. Some customers have been without power for 10 days.

According to JCP&L's outage map, 1,447 outages remained in Wayne—nearly 50 percent of the utility company's customers in town—as of Friday morning at about 6 a.m.

Jersey Central Power & Light's silence on this issue is egregious. Don Lynch, Principal Executive Officer, should be ashamed of himself -- this is no way to lead a customer service organization.

I have been out of power since Last Monday 7PM. I signed the petition and contacted Restore my Electirc . I also watched the Board meeting from a friends home. I feel it important that we mention Don Lynch Principle Executive of JCP&L name as many times as possible because he is responsible for his organizations lack of responsiveness. This has been a nightmare

So that will still leave over 600 of their customers in town without electric. That is, assuming they get the 450.

JCP&L's invisibility is unacceptable. Major pole and lines down on Rt 23 South of Ratzer since Sandy hit - no action yet. This is day 10 of no power. First they estimated 11/7 for return of power, then 11/11. I called Scott Rumana's office this morning - said they're on it - thank you!! Also, thank you to Mayor Vergano and his team for advocating for us.

I'll second that one. JCPL owes us big time. I've been w/o heat/power since 630pm 10/29 near Black Oak. Never see a damn JCPL truck anywhere let alone anyone from out of state. Seen a few PSEG trucks but they are just randomly parked on streets that have power and I never see anyone in them. And what the hell is up with Cablevision trucks everywhere? Unless you can help the utility guys fix stuff get the hell out. No one needs their precious cable and internet while others are still suffering in the dark and cold.

We are also on Terhune and still have no power. It looks like they fixed the transformer and power lines but.....we have no power. We also got a phone call last night at 10:30 saying that Pines Lake Elementary would be closed on Friday because JCP&L had just informed the super intendant that the power would be interrupted all day. How are parents supposed to work? This is shameful!!!

Getting tired of this, i have kids, no food..when will this be resolved?!?!?!

First thanks to the mayor, town council and assemblyman Rumana for all you did to advocate for the town. J.C.P.L. has to go!!!!!!!!!! Last night on Terhune 12 trucks and what happens???? They trip the system and all of Pines Lake area goes black again!!!!!!!!!!! Some homes did come back up but many did not Something is wrong with their system and it has to be fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel for the folks on Beech Ter. They were out since the storm, had power for 10 minutes and then back into the dark. Just not right!!!!!!!!!!! I say all Wayne J.C.P.L. customers should make a trip to their headquarters in Morristown , with the press, and say enough is enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe with us all in a large group something might change. Too many people since the storm with no power. J.C.P.L. it is just not right!!

Like last year JCP&L just throws people in here (not blaming the workers) with no plan. Woefully inadequate supervision, And no communication to let people know what's going on. Why are we surprised ? This is exactly what they did last year, only worse. And those who have the responsibility to hold them accountable did very little to change their approach. What changes did they make from last year? And here we are. Helpless cold and out of patience.

That seems to be the case. They all should be passing resolutions condemning jcpl. They should be speaking for us. thats what seems to be happening in morris county.

Unfortunately for all of us much of these financial losses are not covered by our insurance.

And yes there are other fellow citizens in nj who have lost much more than we have. We can't forget that.

Latest from JCP&L: Now there are 652 outages and here is what pops up when you click on the Wayne map: "The majority of customers that do not have power, including those that experienced new outages as a result of Wednesday's Nor¿easter, will have power restored by Saturday evening, November 10. Some communities will have their power restored by Sunday evening, November 11, where our line forces must replace the service wire to their homes. Devastated areas, including areas of the Barrier Islands, where we were not able to begin service restoration until recently, will extend into next week."

Can someone tell me where the Barrier Islands in Wayne are? So much for accurate information.
