Open Space Debate on County Funding Continues
Officials host public hearing Wednesday in Bloomingdale.

County officials are weighing how to best allocate money from the Passaic County Open Space Trust Fund, NorthJersey.com reported Monday.
Environmentalists and municipalities are applying for money from the fund various improvement and preservation projects. Officials have been trying to answer the question of how to best allocate the funds for a while now.
A committee advises the County Board of Chosen Freeholders what projects they would like money from the fund to go towards. The freeholders vote on what projects the money will fund.
The township will receive $200,000 from the fund to install athletic fields on an unused 12-acre lot of land near DePaul Catholic High School on Hamburg Turnpike. The town applied for $1.5 million.
Residents can attend a public hearing on the matter Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Bloomingdale borough hall.

Wayne should get Farmland Presevation grants to preserve the Bunton Farm on Valley at Berdan. Oh wait they passed up those funds in order to let Mark Semeraro's brother build another development.

The town should turn down the 200K and suspend plans if it will cost an additional 1.3 million. Stop the spending.
