Columbia University Recognizes Ex-Hills Linebacker

Mike Waller was named the player of the game last week for recording 12 tackles against rival Dartmouth University.

 

A former Wayne Hills football captain has received a prestigious award for his outstanding play for Columbia University.

Mike Waller was named the John Toner Homecoming Player of the Game last week.

Waller, a middle linebacker, recorded 12 solo tackles and intercepted a pass during the team’s homecoming game versus Dartmouth University. The award is given Columbia’s most outstanding player in the team’s annual homecoming game.

Waller is among the Ivy Conference leaders in tackles. He averages 10 a game.

I'm almost afraid to comment on this article because of the "no names", but here goes.
This young man epitomizes the best of what the Wayne Schools (and excellent parenting) can do. I'm sure his parents couldn't be prouder, and now his community can join them. Thanks for this positive article about a student athlete from Wayne Hills. I hope it gets so many hits that Patch has no choice but to write more articles about success stories in our community.
