'Fishtailing' Wayne Motorist Charged with DWI in Parsippany

Resident also had outstanding drunken driving warrant from his hometown.

A Wayne man was charged with driving while intoxicated in Parsippany recently, the Parsippany Police Department said Tuesday.

Michael Durant, 28, was charged Friday after police pulled him over shortly before 10 p.m., Parsippany Sgt. Yvonne Christiano said.

Christiano said officers saw the Toyota SUV he was driving "fishtail."

After arresting him, Christiano said, police discovered Durant had an active arrest warrant out of Wayne for driving while intoxicated. The warrant was for more than $1,100.

Parsippany police charged Durant with driving while intoxicated and driving on a suspended license, Christiano said.

Wayne police authorized Durant's release on his own recognizance after he reportedly became sober and pending a court appearance, Christiano said.
