Fire Damages River Lawn Drive Home

No one was injured; fire inspectors examining house, trying to determine what cause the fire.

A minor fire broke out at 181 River Lawn Drive Wednesday night.

Fire Commissioner Barry Turner said the fire was “put out rather quickly.”

Turner said it appeared the fire started in the front porch of the single-family house.

Some of the front of the house was black, particularly the outside of the front porch.

Turner said the homeowner told firefighters that he was having electrical problems in the house before the fire started.

The owner was not available for comment.

Fire inspectors were scheduled to examine the house Wedneday night to determine what caused the fire.

Turner said no one in the house was injured.

Fire Cos. 1, 2, 3, and 5 and the Wayne First Aid Squad responded to the fire.

River Lawn Drive is located near the Hooters restaurant off of Route 23 South.
