Education Election Results Unchanged
Bubba, Essen, and Albanese remain top three vote-getters.
The results of the Wayne Board of Education election remain unchanged after county officials finished counting thousands of absantee ballots.
Incumbent Kim Essen and challengers Michael Bubba and Eileen Albanese received the most number of votes when ballots were cast in November.
County officials released the final vote tallies earlier this week.
The three winners each received more than 20 percent of the more than 36,000 votes cast.
The Community for Academic Excellence, a non-partisan group of current and former educators, endorsed Bubba and incumbent Donald Monteyne during the campaign.
This will be Essen’s first full term on the board. She was selected to replace outgoing board trustees James Jimenez in September 2011.
Bubba and Albanese have never held public office.
