Council Candidates in Brief
Democrats want fiscal responsibility. Republicans want to keep property values up, taxes down.
The following photographs and captions are of the council candidates that were featured at the two candidate forums held earlier this election season.

I said this earleir but apparently it was dleted. I believe Mr egatz would be a fine councilman and I hope he is elected. He would bring a much needed change to this council. He is an excellent communicator as well as listener. He also has some fine ideas, would be a man of action not afraid to take a stand and would be breath of change to what is currently there, Mr Do Nothing but talk about his plastic water bottle Al Sadowski. I am voting for Mr egatz and I hope you allsupport this much needed change ib this ward.

Yesterday, I rec'd some political brochures from the Wayne Republicans. They were criticizing the Democrats for having more than one taxpayer funded salaries if elected. There are 2 sides to every story, sometimes three. Lonnie-Miller-Ryan works for Scott Rumana as some sort of aide. Her salary is paid by the State on NJ. She gets paid a salary as a councilperson. Is that doubledipping? Bob Ceberio, Scotty Rumana's maltese worked for the Meadowlands Commission for 30+ years. He was given the job by McGreevy. The Meadowlands Commission is one of these SHADOW Governments FUNDED BY TAXPAYER DOLLARS. You know, similar to the Passaic Valley Water or Sewage Commission. The kind of taxpayer funded position that pays OVER THE TOP SALARIES TO ITS EXECUTIVES. EXPENSIVE LUNCHES AND DINNERS PAID BY THE TAXPAYERS. Expensive vacations, oops, conventions paid by the taxpayers. You know that kind of job ! Now Bob Ceberio, Rumana's little maltese not only draws his hefty STATE PENSION, but wants to draw a salary from Passaic County. Now is that double dipping? People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!

For the third time (the other two were obviously deleted by the Sadowski campaign) I would like to say that I believe Mr Egatz would make a fine councilman. He is an excellent communicator and listener as well. When he speaks he has some valuable ideas. He would bring a fresh new independent voice to the council. We desperately need some new voices on this council. During the hurrican and ensuingflood Sadowski didn't even know he had residents in his ward that were under water and struggling. He did nothing, he was too busy with his recyclable water bottles, There is no excuse, we pay him a salary and he should know his ward, all of it. Please elect Mr Egatz for Ward 2 to bring some change and independent voices to the council.

Bob Ceberio was a McGreevy man. Was given his job by McGreevy. Now he's running on the Republican ticket in Passaic County. He's now a Rumana man! My, my, how some things never change!

Problem is your not listening!! To bring the change that you folks you are looking for is not going to happen with how you are going about it. Attacking everyone including an ill man that has given everything to this town only makes people angry. Saying you are tired of high taxes then attacking the person who wants to cut the school budget since that is what the town voted for makes people angry. Going after someones wife because she is married to someone who made an error many years ago makes people angry. Instead of constantly beating people up let us know what you will do to improve our quality of life here in Wayne. I did here Mr. Brennan say he would like to turn Willowbrook into a transit center. Isn't Willbrook in a flood area and was shut down for sometime in the last storm??? Give us good solid ways you folks will improve Wayne and then you will have people listen. These post have been saying this over and over again yet you folks continue to attack.

I understand the Bellos are aware of his tactics: sticking derogatory remarks into mailboxes (illegal), etc. Trash = Trash. Those Mr. Bello charges are over 25 years old. And a superior court judge has recently called all charges against Mr. Bello being on the Env. Comm. as MOOT, i.e. not worthy of discussion. SIMPLE PUT; PEOPLE DO HAVE A CHOICE: VOTE FOR THE INDIVIDUAL THAT BESTS SUITS YOUR NEEDS. I still don't get the fact that if Brennan's wife or Burke's wife or Sam's brother does something wrong, how in God's name could a relative be held liable? What are the issues? Do we have a garbage pick-up issue in town? All I keep hearing is TRASH! This town is too good for TRASH talk.

And that's important why? What was he doing dip --it? Volunteering his services. Wow: so bad, he was a volunteer, not stealing $ like some public worker who was suppose to be ill; not suing a Bergan County town like another "public" worker did; WOW- volunteering. Get a life: A REAL LIFE. Some of us saw the Env. Comm minutes just like Brennan did- you gotta be kidding calling this township committee important. Did you know that ALL Environmental meeting were advertised and are open to the public. Did you know in 7 years, less than 7 people from the public, excluding visiting speakers, less than 7: that's 1 per year, ever attended these "important" meetings-WOW. Were you there? Was your buddy there? and Brennan called it an important public commission-WOW. Doesn't sound too important to me.. And you do know Mr. Burp, that just last month in Superior Court no findings of illegality were found against Mr. Bello as all charges brought by Brennan were dropped. You know that yet you keep spreading the same old lies, punk. PS: you also know that case history supports the fact that all actions by the Env. Commission do not have to be voided or set aside; but you can look up the cases yourself. Where's the beef buddy? Stop puking up the same old stuff-cheerios?.

My friend at WP-U & I reviewed Mirza's statements at the debates, etc: quote: "For the taxes I pay, what services do I get," Mirza asked. Excuse me SAM: where have you been? Let me list a few and why many of my YOUNG friends LOVE WAYNE: recreational facilities; Laurelwood Arboretum: NOTE- Nadine Bello helped get a substantial GRANT for Laurelwood: have you ever been there?; museums; FREE public library; NOTE: Nadine was the driving force to keep the Preakness Branch OPEN for our seniors: have you ever been there?; EXCEPTIONAL public school system; Wm. Paterson University; children's dental clinic; veteran's day services: have you attended? Mrs. Bello does EVERY YEAR; the family fun programs; learning @ your leisure; Wayne Alliance: have you ever been to their drug & alcohol abuse presentations? Mrs. Bello has; rabies clinic: free to Wayne residents; historical commission; animal control & shelter: have you seen our new shelter yet? Mrs. Bello has; our building inspection dept; buses for seniors; cablecasting @ 77: have you been there? Mrs. Bello is a big supporter of this venue to outreach messages & news out to Wayne residents 24 hours per day; DPW: have you seen our township workers in action? Councilwoman Bello has and supports ALL our public employees 100%; More will follow. Don't you think we should elect an individual who is involved with the Town? who knows the town? who volunteers in the town? Mrs. Bello builds bridges, she does not tear them down.

Well today is the day. We all need to get out and vote no matter what side we are on. There have been many things said in this election but when it is all said and done it comes down to one thing. Who will best represent you when they sit up on that council. With that in mind go pull the lever for those people and feel good that you have done your civic duty. Today is what makes America America. Freedom to choose.

Well I see all my post have been deleted so here we go again. First I now have in my hand what garbage was left in the Pines Lake mailboxes by Issam Mirza's team. How low can you stoop??????????? I will be bringing a copy of this down to the Sheffield post office and see how they feel about this being placed inside mailboxes. Also did some research. Issam Mirza's brother has some legal problems also. Boy seems like there are 2 sides to everything as the gentleman at the council meeting said. I guess the person to vote for is the person you feel will best represent you. If you decide to vote for someone that would stoop as low as to put negative hand copied flyers in mailboxes than you deserve what you get.

Hey "car-wash-guy" from bucolic Morris County ... get your rags together as there will be plenty of crying tonight. And I know you will not give up and "that is good." Your PUKE has solidified a beautiful community to fight the TORRENTS of LIES & SMEARS which Wayne does not deserve. All you have in your arsenal is the DEMONIZATION of 1 guy... most of us do not know: 1 guy. A VOLUNTEER in Wayne, not an OUTSIDER. 1 guy. Right or wrong it's only 1 guy with a 25 year old plea: 1 guy we don't even know. And you expect Wayne to just "roll-over" as your Democratic TOTALITARIAN philosophy takes over. Do YOU want to help those in need in Wayne: roll-up your sleeves and VOLUNTEER: Wayne can sure use your help. YES: volunteer to help, NOT Destroy. Most Wayne people have their life savings in this town and they will not allow a "carpetbagger" to ruin their quality of life.

Read that Issam Mirza's brother has a criminal record and was fired from the Wayne Board of Education for theft. How much did that cost Wayne Tax payers? wayne resident 2... Sam Mirza is not in a position to hire anybody. He is a candidate. He holds no power to hire anybody. That's done by the REPUBLICAN MONOPOLY you support. If Sam Mirza's sister-in-law works for the Township, she wasn't hired by Sam Mirza. The fact that she is still working for the Township at the very least indicates she is a good employee, worthy of her position.

WR: I believe we are seeking the same destination...just traveling different roads. The answer is simple but those in power at any level are not supportive: it is call TERM LIMITS. I believe we need limits at all levels of government and at one time in the past, I am told, the "term limit" concept was teamed with something called "initiative & referendum" but when the proponents of I&R were elected at the State level, they never brought the issue up to the voting NJ public as a change to our constitution. The I&R proponents became selfish. I&R would address your concerns and mine too.

I agree with you. I am an avid supporter of term limits, especially for our Congressmen and Senators. If the President has term limits, why not the others? If a Governor has term limits, why not state officeholders? These people become parasitic leeches and the longer they're in, the less productive they become. I am also a supporter of term limits on a local level. These terms are 4 years. That's a long time! Two terms should be more than enough. However, I don't think we'll ever see that come to fruition.

No, they all weren't voted in! Was Bello or Jimenez voted in? Let me step out of the box here and make a prediction. There will be less Republican representation on the Council after today. They unfortunately will still have control, but they will have at the very least, one less member. As for Chris McIntyre, as far as I'm concerned, he's no Democrat. He is just another one of Rumana's boys. He's a REPUBLICAN in Democrats clothing!

Sorry WR: I heard this statement throughout the campaign by the DEMS and chauked it up as "political." The NJ-State Constitution addresses vacancies, except for congress, the PARTY of the peson who leaves office shall appoint the successor. So Dems appoint a Dem and Repubs appoint Repubs but only until the next election. The Councilwoman in the 6th Ward WAS ELECTED by the voters in the 6th Ward 2 years ago to fill an unexpired term: just as the NJ Constitution dictates. That issue came out when Brennan sued the Township claiming the mayor was not "properly" appointed. The Judge ruled that the fact that the mayor was subsequently ELECTED by the citizens of Wayne, Mr. Vergano was properly and rightly the mayor of Wayne. What gets me is that Brennan who has a brilliant legal mind knew that so why did he have to sue? That one had to cost Wayne residents a few bucks.
