With Valentine's Day only a few days away, we thought we would let you know the best places in town to buy chocolate and other items to make this Valentine's Day extra special.

LAURIE'S HOMEMADE CANDIES

Laurie's has a wide variety of treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. Their chocolate is handmade. You can stop in and pick up a pre-assorted box of chocolates or make a custom box of your own.

The most popular item for Valentine’s Day is their chocolate-covered strawberries in their secret chocolate sauce ($21.95 per pound) and their “Happy Heart,” an apple dipped in caramel and chocolate. If placing a special order, which is preferred for Valentine’s Day, call 973-696-7255.

Hours of operation are: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

NAGEL'S CANDY BARN

 Your senses are overwhelmed by the aroma of chocolate as soon as you walk into Nagel's.

They have a variety of Valentine’s Day products, including beautifully packaged and wrapped chocolate boxes, roses, lollipops and bars. There is something for every budget: from a 6-ounce box of peanut butter-filled chocolate hearts ($7.50) to baskets filled with chocolate. They also have a wide selection of molds (most are $1.79).

They also sell a 6-ounce bag of melting chocolate $3.25 so you can make your own Valentine Day's treats.

Nagel’s accepts cash only, so check your wallet before stopping in.

CHOCOLATE TREASURES 

Chocolate Treasures has been a part of the Wayne community since 1984.

They have a huge selection of molds, melting chocolate, injection-flavors and a variety of confectionery goodness.

They also sell the glitter and luster to add the sparkle to your chocolates that will make each one unique and glamorous. They offer a card that allows you receive a free mold of your choice when you acquire a certain number of "purchasing stamps."

Chocolate Treasures is located at 90 Mountainview Boulevard. Hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

MICHAEL'S ARTS AND CRAFTS

Michael’s has several chocolate molds for only $1.99 each. New items include a double heart chocolate lollipop mold, a chocolate candy pick mold to accent your Valentine’s Day cupcakes, and a Valentine Candy Making Kit for $9.99.

There is also a selection of packaging starting at $1 and some fun Valentine décor to add to your home. They also sell a variety of molding chocolates, including: white, light cocoa and dark cocoa.
