Candidates Night to be Held Oct. 16

Wayne Council of PTOs is sponsoring the forum. Six individuals are running for three seats.

Residents will have a chance to meet the candidates for the Board of Education at a candidates night on Tuesday, Oct. 16.

The candidates will answer questions from the audience.

The forum will be held at the municipal building from 7 to 9 p.m.

Six individuals are running for three seats.

Incumbents Kim Essen and Donald Monteyne are running for re-election. The other candidates are: Catherine Kazan, Michael Bubba, Carol DiPasquale, and Eileen Albanese.

The Wayne Council of Parent Teacher Organizations is sponsoring the event.

Residents can cast their votes for the candidates during the general election on Nov. 6. The board voted in January to move the election to November. A new state law allowed the change to be made.

New blood? Kim Essen and Don Monteyne have been on the board for about 30 seconds. Jane Hutchinson, with three terms under her belt, is not seeking reelection.

A new state law and Wayne BOE quickly jumped on it. You get to vote for the candidates in November but the taxpayers lost the right to vote on the yearly BOE budget. So much for caring for the taxpayers. The Wayne BOE treats the taxpayer like their personal money machine with their never ending spending. Some towns didn't agre to this change. The Wayne BOE was only too happy to take the taxpayers right to vote on the budget away from them.
