Board of Education Trustee Resigns
Board will begin interviewing candidates to replace Robyn Kingston, hopes to have seat filled by next month.
Trustee Robyn Kingston has resigned her seat on the Board of Education.
Juanita Petty, board secretary and the district’s business administrator, announced Kingston’s resignation at the board meeting Thursday.
The resignation was effective Wednesday.
Rumors of such a move by Kingston were swirling for months. It is expected Kingston will move to Texas where her husband has been working.
Kingston did not return a message Thursday night seeking comment.
Kingston, a former co-president of the Wayne Council of Parent Teacher Organizations, was elected to the board in 2011.
Trustee and Second Vice President Laura Stinziano campaigned with Kingston.
“Robyn was an asset to every trustee on this board and the board is truly going to miss her,” Stinziano said. “She was always professional. She will be missed.”
Petty said the board would begin interviewing candidates to replace Kingston soon.
Petty said the board hopes to appoint someone to fill the position by the board's Feb. 21 meeting. That person may choose to run for a one-year unexpired term in November and for a full three-year term in 2014.

She played an active role in improving this school district even before she was elected to the board. She will be missed.

Keep your eye on what happens next after this resignation and who gets appointed. I think I just saw a sign on Nellis drive that read "More Political Deals Ahead."

Calculated and transparent. I am sure this will also be deleted. In this Repugnant town.
