Revised Facilities Policy Approved By Board of Ed
Organizations where more than half of the people participating in an event are Wayne residents will not be charged a fee to use district-owned facilities.
The Board of Education has made it cheaper for local organization to use district-owned facilities. The Board approved a revised facilities policy at a public meeting Thursday.
Groups whose participants are more than 50 percent Wayne residents will not be charged a rental fee to use facilities.
"It's a positive thing for the community. It's a fair thing for the community and the district, to ensure that people to utilize the facilties at a reasonable and fair rate," said Board President Mitchell Badiner. "It's a very good example of listenging to the community and making appropriate adjustments when necessary."
Dan Halewicz, director of administration and finance at the Wayne Police Athletic League, and Joe Lynch, chief professional officer of the Wayne Boys and Girls Club, could not be reached for comment.
