Arts Students Showcase Talents at Annual 'Evening' (Video)
Musicians and singers perform in the annual Wayne Evening with the Arts Tuesday.
Dozens of young musicians took to the stage Tuesday night for the annual Wayne Evening with the Arts.
The event is designed to showcase the talents of the youngest musicians in the township.
The Tri-M Music Honor Society at Wayne Hills High School coordinated the event.
“A lot of people aren’t aware of a lot of the Wayne music programs. They are limited to what their child performs, but there’s so much that goes on in town. It’s amazing,” said Thomas Mattera, Tri-M president. “Music is a very unifying force.”
Performances were staggered. Jason Kwon performed a violin solo in one room while the Wayne Valley Winter Guard team performed their routine in the gym. The North Jersey Honors Band, a group of musicians in elementary, middle and high school, played while Alex Yu performed a piano recital.
Abandoned Calamity, a rock band Dan See, Jacob Suszczynski, and Alex Douthat formed, also performed.
