'80s Concert Raises Money for Sandy Victims
More than $500 was donated to assist local families recover from storm.

The recent Rock 4 Food concert raised $525 for victims of Superstorm Sandy.
The money was given to the Wayne Division of Social Services. The department will donate the money to help local victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Bands performed hits from the 1980s on stage at the Wayne YMCA. The event had to be rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy.
Event organizer Dave Philp said he was disappointed that more money wasn’t collected but that he was happy for the number of people at the event despite the circumstances.

Yes, it was a shame that the event wasn't more well-attended - particularly for a great cause. The organizers certainly did a good job marketing/advertising the night but I guess the postponement took some wind out of the event's sails. The bands were really enjoyable, though. The main band performed a very cool selection of 80's songs (some you'd expect and some that were terrific choices ... Missing Persons? Very cool). The teen band, RADIO SILENCE, was amazing!
Better luck to the organizers at future events. Don't give up!
