Wayne PBA Joins the Wayne Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse
Wayne, NJ--The Harlem MagicMasters are returning in the event of the season to battle the Alliance All Stars, consisting of Wayne elementary teachers and principals, and the Wayne PBA and the DFM Foundation will be on hand as the Game and Ticket Sponsors.
“Traditionally the game is sponsored by local businesses, PTO and our hard working volunteers who support Alcohol and Drug-free events.” said Robbin Gulino, Alliance Coordinator. We are so happy that the local businesses have so kindly found funds to support our efforts again this year.” She shared.
Do the Alliance All-Stars have what it takes this year to finally defeat the world renowned Harlem Magic Masters? Come and be part of the excitement and cheer for your favorite team, Friday, April 29, 2011 at Wayne Valley High School Gym. Doors, raffles, open at 6pm.
For the Alliance to continue with family events as large as this we count on the generous support of individuals, local businesses and organizations to sponsor activities throughout the game. Additional sponsorships are available and everyone is encouraged to participate. You may wish to purchase an ad in the event program, make a general donation or simply donate water and snacks.
Wayne’s elementary PTO organizations have been generous in co-sponsoring the raffles and donating gift baskets from their schools. The school generating the most raffles for their basket receiving a free ice cream party for their entire school. Also the school that sells the most pre-game tickets will receive a free ice cream party.
“We always look forward to the event with the Harlem MagicMasters as a fun alcohol-free event” stated Pastor Karl Records, Basketball Committee Chairperson who is working with Det. Mark Dubois to actively recruit teachers, administrators, principals and others to join the All-Star team. “Each game is more fun than the last and our committee works so hard to make it fun for everyone” said Records
Advance Tickets are available at the elementary schools and at the Health Department at a discounted price of $8.00 for students and $10.00 for adults. Prices are $10.00 and $12.00 at the door. Proceeds from all Alliance sponsored events such as this allow the organization to continue providing quality alcohol, tobacco and drug prevention education programs for Wayne residents. The Alliance continues to work towards creating a safe, healthy and drug free community for all to enjoy for over 20 years.

The Wayne Alliance is funded by a grant provided by the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (GCADA).
The Alliance meets on the third Wednesday of each month at Town Hall in the Health Department. Volunteers do not need to attend the monthly meetings in order help.
