Hurricane Sandy was a surprise to most folks who were inconvenienced as a result of the storm.

Many of us without power and damage to homes and businesses certainly feel the aftereffects of such a damaging storm.

Additionally, many of our senior citizens who rely on the opportunity to leave their home and have their hair shampooed and styled on a weekly basis were also inconvenienced.  They travel to their destination salon either by community transport or on their own.

During the storm, we know of no community transports and other folks couldn't navigate the fallen trees or just didn't have gasoline in order to travel.

That's why Mondays between 10am and 1:30pm from now until December 3 are dedicated to local Senior Citizens who will receive a free shampoo, set and/or blow dry in the student clinic at the Roman Academy 431 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne, NJ.

There are several other services available at reasonable rates; however this offer is a first come/first serve accommodation and only one complimentary shampoo and styling will be redeemed per person.
